Sandals and Beaches Announce Three New Jamaican Properties Coming Soon

My Paradise Planner

Sandals and Beaches Resort Chairman, Adam Stewart, announced on his social media account today that the resort brands would be adding not one, not two, but THREE new properties to their portfolio. All three properties will be set to open in the North Coast of Jamaica, near Ocho Rios.

The first of three properties will be the highly anticipated return of Sandals Dunns River, a resort that was a beloved "fan favorite" among Sandals fans for years before Sandals let it go to another resort chain. Past guests have asked Sandals for years to bring their Dunns River resort back, and now they're getting their wish.

It won't be the Sandals Dunns River of the past, though. This new property will receive a full renovation to re-Sandalize the property and return to the brand better than ever before. Now it will include 48 signature SkyPool Suites, a first for Jamaica, and 12 Swim-up Rondoval Suites. Next door, a brand new Sandals Royal Dunns River will be built as a separate resort with full exchange privileges between the two (much like the Sandals properties in Barbados). Sandals Royal Dunns River will be comprised of 250 suites.

These rondoval suites will be butler level service, boast their own private pool also with access to the lagoon style pool directly from the patio. Stairs will lead up to your private rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the surrounding resort area, a soaking tub, a covered sitting area, comfortable patio furniture made for lounging and sunbathing, and what appears to be a wet bar so you don't have to go far for a refreshing drink.

For years Sandals Resorts have been adding, expanding and renovating to meet the demand of couples needing to get away. But Beaches-loving families have been eagerly awaiting a new property for their multi-generational family vacations. Finally, we have some good news!

The third property announced by Adam Stewart today is Beaches Runaway Bay.  This property will be located halfway between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. It will include have over 300 one, two, three, and four bedroom suites and will give guests access to the Runaway Bay Golf Club's 18-hole championship golf course.

What we do know is that this resort will be the future of Beaches Resorts. We'll see things we've never seen at any Beaches property before. But for now, the brand is remaining tight lipped about what we can expect those exciting new things to be. Just from this rendering alone we read to see what innovation is in store for the Beaches brand. We do know that the former resort, Jewel Runaway Bay, had a water park and some family suites with plunge pools. We'll be keeping our eyes peeled for announcements on what is to come.

Today, Adam Stewart and the Sandals and Beaches team met with the Jamaican Prime Minister to go over the renderings of the resort. Then, a little while later, they broke ground on one of the properties. I am truly excited to see what is to come for the brand and to visit what I know will be three incredible new resort properties on the beautiful island of Jamaica.

At the moment, there is no opening date(s) announced for any of the properties. If you'd like to be added to our "First To Know" list, email us at info@myparadiseplanner.com.

Are you as excited as we are to see these new properties? If so, comment below with something you love about the resorts that you'd love to see on the new properties. Or with something new the resorts haven't done before. We'd love to hear your feedback!
