Sandals Dunn's River Now Ready To Book

Sandals Resorts announced today that their newest resort, Sandals Dunn's River, will be opening May 24th, 2022. Some long-time Sandals fans may remember this property from over a decade ago, which officially closed its doors as Sandals Dunn’s River Villaggio Golf Resort & Spa, on May 31st, 2010. Many guests were heartbroken to see one of their favorite properties leave the brand for what was assumed for good. Therefore, this announcement brings a lot of excitement in anticipation to seeing this property return with a mix of the old Sandals feel and the new Sandals look.

What can we expect from the new Sandals Dunn's River?

All the Sandals luxury inclusions you have come to know and love from their other properties. But expect to see several firsts, too, such as the Coyaba Sky Villa Swim-up Rondoval Butler Suite with Private Pool Sanctuary which boast a private pool with separate access to the swim up pool, as well as a private rooftop terrace with a soaking tub.

You'll also find Sandals' famous "Skypool Suites" -- named here as the  Tufa Terrace One Bedroom Skypool Butler Suite w/ Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tub -- which will provide guests with direct beachfront views from their private balcony plunge pools.

Even the planned entry level rooms which do not come with Club or Butler level services or an ocean/beach view, will be a sight to behold. In a room this beautiful, we'd be just as happy waking up to the lush green mountains out my balcony window.

Restaurants will be another noticeable difference for past Sandals guests. There will be 12 dining options on resort, as well as access to the nearby Sandals Ochi for an additional 16 restaurants. With a more sophisticated resort appearance comes new restaurant names to match. Don't expect the typical "Kimonos" or "Soy" options that you'll find at other Sandals properties. This resort is bringing entirely new restaurants to the brand. With names like "Banyu" for the Asian restaurant and "Hanami" for the sushi restaurant. It's yet to be determined how different these restaurants will be in menu options, but for now we welcome the retiring of names like "Dino's pizza" and the new "Isola" taking its place. This is giving us Sandals Royal Curacao vibes and we are very excited about it!

There will be five pools. Two long lazy river pools. Nine bars, including swim-up bars, and of course a beautiful beach on Mammee Bay, just a few miles from Jamaica's famous Dunn's River Falls, Mystic Mountain, and many other incredible excursion options.

Also, thanks to American Airlines, guests flying form Miami can now skip the hour and a half long drive from either Montego Bay's Sangster International Airport (MBJ) or Kingston's Norman Manley International Airport (KIN), and fly into Ocho Rio's Ian Fleming International airport (OCJ). Transfer times will be closer to 30 minutes for Sandals Dunn's River guests, cutting out an hour. However, guests who wish to fly into Montage Bay (MBJ) or Kingston (KIN) will still be provided with the usual complimentary transfers from Sandals.
