Explore Europe In Style, Sans The Backpack!
For many people, taking a month off to travel around Europe isn't always an option. But that shouldn't keep people from seeing some of the most beautiful destinations in the world. There is a way to cram almost every major city into a time span of 14 days. No backpacking and no over-the-top expenses, meaning you won't break your back or your bank account.
Cruise lines are a safe, fun and cost efficient way to see more than one destination at a time. Many people (up to 6 million per year to be exact) choose cruising as their means of vacation transportation. The way it works is you leave, or "embark" in cruise terms, from a main port, let's say Madrid, Spain. From there you will travel on the seas with for anywhere from 3-16 days, stopping in ports all over Europe. You can choose a cruise of the Mediterranean. Most of them Go from France to Italy to Greece and Turkey, and some even stop in Egypt. Each time the ship docks in a new destination, you are free to get off and explore the area. Then, when you are done, you can come back to the ship and enjoy the lavish accommodations of your stateroom, or ship cabin, and the facilities on the ship. This is a great way to travel because you get to see some of the best cities in Europe all in one trip, without the trains, planes and automobiles. Plus you will have access to many tours and guides through your cruise ship's company and connections. You also won't have to worry about where to find food or lodging, because your home base will be the ship.
I think that a cruise around Europe is a great way to see it all. Then, you can decide what cities, or countries, you liked the most and can plan a longer trip there next time!
